KOTA KINABALU: Cement Industries (Sabah) Sdn Bhd (CIS) has allocated RM15,000 worth of Raya cookies for frontliners.

Its Chairman, Datuk Japlin Akim said the contribution is part of CIS’ corporate social responsibility in appreciating the frontliners.

“We hope this contribution will bring smiles to our frontliners who are sacrifing their mental, physical and emotional wellbeing to serve the country,” he said in a statement.

Japlin handed over the contribution to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in an event at the Sabah State Administration Centre (PPNS) earlier this week.

Also present was CIS general manager Sumardi Mohd Yusof and human resources, administratives and information technology manager, Ezrie Ag Raini.

During the event, Hajiji said the government has been holding ceremonies to appreciate the security forces be they at the borders, on land, at sea and in the air.

This year at the event, Hajiji said it is even more special because three other frontliner groups were appreciated in the event namely the State Health Department, the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) and Malaysia Civil Defence Force for their tremendous contribution for the past year in fighting the spread of Covid-19 in the state.
