15 flood victims evacuated

SIPITANG: Fifteen flood victims from Kampung Tanjung Lipis and Kampung Pantai Sipitang, here have been safely evacuated from their homes in Sunday’s flood by the Fire and Rescue Services Department.

Sipitang fire and rescue chief of operation Shadan Hj Basar said the flood victims are from Kampung Tanjung Lipis and Kampung Pantai.

“We received a distress call at 12.59am yesterday (Sept 20) and deployed several teams to the affected flood areas.

“A family of four people from Kg Tanjung Lipis and two families from Kg Pantai were safely evacuated when their houses were hit by flash flood,” he said yesterday.

Shadan said the flood victims took temporary shelter with their relatives.
