Produce more quality goods, SMEs told
KOTA KINABALU: The state government is expecting Kota Belud entrepreneurs to produce more quality products in the future and start exploring e-commerce to widen their market.
Industrial Development Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam said this during the handing over machines to 52 entrepreneurs, initiated by Sabah Department of Industrial Development and Research, under its small and medium enterprise (SME) aid platform called BAIKS.
“Successful entrepreneurs are not only able to produce products and sell them in the market. Entrepreneurs should continue to move forward, grow their mindset by taking into account the use of modern technology for production and sales such as e-commerce.
“In the effort to expand the SME sector, my ministry will continue to play a role in assisting entrepreneurs in relevant aspects such as marketing and e-commerce so that their business become more productive and effective,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Joachim, who is also the deputy chief minister said Kota Belud is famous not only for its efficient horse riders but also for its viable entrepreneurs.
This, he said, can be seen in terms of the production of exotic products such as Penjaram, Liking salted fish, machetes, anchovies, handicrafts and so on.
