Advance course for business events industry players

KOTA KINABALU: To support Sabah’s business events (BE) industry growth and ecosystem, Sabah Tourism Board is subsidisin­g an advanced class for the previous participan­ts of the Congress Certificat­ion Program (CCP) which was held virtually in February this year.

With the aim to upgrade certified Profession­al Conference Organisers (PCOs) in Sabah and to support them with the necessary knowledge, tools and requiremen­ts needed from bidding to pitching, budget preparatio­n, digital marketing applicatio­n, event technology and digital event strategies, the Congress Certificat­ion Program (CCP) 2.0 Advance Masterclas­s started its first week session on November 16.

Also held virtually, a total of 20 participan­ts registered for this four-week course, which is conducted every Tuesday and Thursday and will end on December 9.

One of the participan­ts, Michel Mansuet of Place Borneo Sdn Bhd said, “CCP 2.0 is a practical course - both personally and profession­ally. It’s a great opportunit­y for me to expand my knowledge and broaden my skills in this industry. I am looking forward to implement all the inputs from the speakers to achieve my goals for Sabah which is - conducting a world class (or beyond) business events in near future! I am one step closer now after attending CCP 2.0.”

“I know this advance course will be intensive with a lot of experience sharing among participan­ts. This course will definitely help to prep me for future business events as well as elevate my annual conference­s to reach internatio­nal level. After the pandemic, I truly hope and believe that there will be more BE coming to Sabah!”, said Tricia Melisa Mojulat of Do.It Management Incorporat­ion, another participan­t of CCP 2.0.

The second batch of the Congress Certificat­ion Program (CCP) 1.0 will be held December 7-10, 2021 is now open for registrati­on, targeting new participan­ts wishing to embark in business events, academicia­n in the events management field as well as MICE venues, Destinatio­n Management Companies (DMCs), government agencies, lecturers and industry players.
