Don’t mess with foreigner card issue, Filipinos told

-

KOTA KINABALU: Filipino workers in Sabah, including those without document, are urged not to get involved in the issue of Kad Orang Asing (Foreigner Card) currently discussed by Malaysian authorities.

Instead, they should focus on how to excel in their respective workplaces to avoid retrenchment.

“Given the present economic uncertainties faced by many Malaysian employers, Filipinos employed in the various fields like construction, plantation, and service sectors including domestic helpers, should focus on how they can excel themselves in workplaces to avoid losing employment,” concerned Filipino Professional Sabah (CFPS) member Nikko Fabian said.

CFPS is a group of Filipino professionals working in Sabah actively organizing charity projects, extend assistance to countrymen during emergencies/calamities, and help preserve harmonious relationship between Malaysia and the Philippines.

For the paperless Filipinos, Nikko strongly advised them to go home and secure their proper travel documents if they wish to work in Malaysia.
