Shine Table Tennis Centre players do well at tourney
KOTA KINABALU: Shine Table Tennis Centre (STTC) players impressed at the Kota Kinabalu Table Tennis Championship held at the Olympia Badminton Arena in Inanam on Sunday.
STTC, which was only formed in 2021, concluded the twoday tournament with seven gold, five silver and 14 bronze medals.
Aadah Wong of SM All Saints contributed two of the gold medals a er winning in the Girl’s Under-15 and the Perpaduan Women’s Singles events.
The other STTC’s gold medalists were Hypatia Chong (SJKC Yue Min - Girl’s U10), Esly Soulis (St James - Boy’s U13), Elcy Soulis (St James - Girl’s U13), Aaric Wong (Men’s Singles) and Dr Kew (Veteran Singles).
The silver medal winners were Elys Soulis (St James - Girl’s U10), Joshua Chin (KK High School Boy’s U18 Singles), Vincon Land (Chung Hwa KK - Boy’s U10), Sia Hsiao Ching (Women’s Singles) and Sherry Wong (Veteran Singles).
As for the bronze medals, the winners were Boy U10 - Chong Jin Xuan (SJK (C) Shan Tao KK - Boy’s U10), Chong Jin Hao (Chung Hwa KK - Boy’s U10), Kew Zi Harn (Chung Hwa Likas - Girl’s U13, Girl’s U15), Hypatia (Girl’s U13), Esly (Boy’s U15, Boy’s U18 Singles), Elcy (Girl’s U15, Girl’s U18), Aadah (Girl’s U18), Joshua (Men’s Singles), Aidah Wong (Women’s Singles), Connie Leong (Women’s Singles) and Raymond Kew (Sabah Tshung Tsin - Boy’s U18).
STTC operator Han Shin Nee was happy with the achievement of the players in the championship organised by the Kota Kinabalu Table Tennis Association.
Shin Nee, a former state player and one of the coaches of STTC, thanked the parents for fully supporting their children to play the sport.
