Jauteh overall champion in RCKSS charity golf tournament

KOTA KINABALUL: Datuk Jauteh Dikun emerged as overall champion in the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu South (RCKSS) charity golf tournament held at the Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club recently.

Jauteh performed above all of the 240 golfers based on system 36 Stableford to clinch the overall top spot.

The charity golf event also contested various categories for men and ladies.

The Men’s A category winner was Sharrif Wan Ahmad followed by Affendi Awang Besar and Lo Tien Ming while the top three in Men’s B are Hamid OKK Zainal, Datuk Hung How Kiong and Muhammad Saifullah Najid.

Howng Nai Teck clinched the Men’s C title with Roland Liew Thien Chu and Adrian Alang in second and third respective­ly while the Men’s Super Senior category saw Charles Chong and Bunny Teh win the two top placings.

In the Ladies category, Micheline Hwong took the first placing while Amberly Zaira Zamri settled for a runner-up finish.

As for the VIP category, Thomas Chong was the winner followed by William Tan.

The charity golf event also handed out prizes to winners for Bullseye (Shariff Wan and Sabdin Ibrahim) and Novelties (Alfred Liew, Mohamad Safani Ringkas and Razak Jun).

The lucky draw winners were Nasip Usop, Valerian Hansen Petrus, Dr. P Satish Kuma and Lo Siew Ming while the Raffles draw winners were Bustaman Mataitu, Woo Soo Poo and Lim Ah Chan.

Datuk Roland Chia, representi­ng the State Government, gave away the prizes and trophies to the winners.

Chia went on to hail RCKKS for organising the charity golf tournament.

He also praised the organiser for the two iconic and signature girls’ hostel projects which have been completed and have helped transforme­d the lives of thousands of rural girls and their communitie­s through providing a safe home for them while they get better education.

Meanwhile, Past President George Chong, who is also the organising chairman, presented appreciati­on to Chia and the two major sponsors namely Jesselton Properties Sdn Bhd and VW Kota Bumi Sdn Bhd, and the Unduk Ngadau pageants who were present.

The Unduk Ngadau (UN) organisati­on and Happy Family Homes Malaysia (HFHM) attended the event to give their support for the charity and assisted to raise funds through an Unduk Ngadau photoshoot and raffles activity with funds raised going towards the moving in costs for the Rotary Bantayan Girls Hostel in Tamparuli.

The chairperso­n of Tuaran district level UN, Assistant District Officer Hannevy Harry attended together with UN Tuaran Betsy La Salle, UN Tamparuli Crisnila Jupli and UN Kiulu Allveanna Loimin while HFHM was represente­d by Halida and other board members.

RCKKS President Benjamin Chin thanked Chia, all participan­ts, sponsors, the Unduk Ngadaus, Rotarians and Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club for their support and contributi­on in making the event a success, enabling RCKKS to replenish its community service funds so that it can continue with its community service programme in Sabah.
