Pasar Tamu Telupid to become tourism center
BELURAN: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for Beluran, Felix Joseph Saang, is determined to transform Pasar Tamu Telupid into a tourism center.
Felix, who is the deputy head of PH Youth, thinks that the location has potential to be the center of a raction for tourists and visitors from inside and outside the Telupid district.
“PH Beluran wants to make the pasar tamu a tourism a raction that can be visited not only by Telupid and Beluran residents but also by people from other districts.
“Visitors are able to buy agricultural products from small traders and agricultural entrepreneurs in this district, which can directly improve the economy and generate income for farmers and traders,” he said a er a walkabout at Pasar Tamu Telupid recently.
Felix said that PH Beluran wants to increase the amount of agricultural assistance, courses by agricultural experts, and basic loans to farmers to increase crop yields.
In addition, he said the party also wants to encourage farmers to venture into agricultural innovation, especially the agricultural produce processing industry, as a new economic source.
“This is my aspiration for the people of Telupid and Beluran in particular. Give me the opportunity to channel my efforts into developing Telupid and Beluran districts,” stressed Felix.
The UPKO Youth leader is also planning to place a sign with the name of general market and the schedule for the pasar tamu at the entrance to Telupid town.
Among Felix’s manifestos for Beluran is to drive socioeconomics, industry, tourism and agricultural promotion in the area.
