Feline, beauty queens take part in photography challenge

KUCHING: The 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023 pageants graced the ‘Cats around the World’ photography competition held at Farley Mall, Jalan Penrissen here yesterday.

According to Farley Group and YAST Group, the main organiser of the 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023, the main highlight of the event was the ‘beauties and the feline’ photography contest, in which the beauty contestants competed for the most fla ering pose with cats originating from their respective countries.

“We want to create an event which serves as a tourism platform to promote Sarawak’s capital Kuching which is also known as the ‘City of Cats’,” said the event’s organiser, adding that there was also a competition for the ‘Best Cat’ title.

“Should there be no cats originating from the beauty pageants’ respective country, they will instead take photos with the local cats in Sarawak where these photos will then be displayed as artworks at Kuching North City Hall’s Cat Museum,” he added.

Five pageant contestants representing Brazil, Russia, Burundi, Venezuela and the Philippines were adjudged as the winners of the event.

The 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023 event is fully supported by the Sarawak government, with its grand finale to be held at Raia Hotel and Convention Centre at 7pm this Nov 25. Also present at the event were the organising commi ee chairperson Esther Law Lee Poh; president of Miss Tourism International and the founder of D’Touch International Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi and representatives of Farley Group Kuching.
