Exciting races at Tambalang on Sunday

-

KOTA KINABALU: The Race 5 Class D over 1000m on sand track at the Royal Sabah Turf Club (RSTC) Tambalang racecourse in Tuaran come Sunday (April 21) is a must watch.

It promises yet another high-speed open race although with no clear-cut favourite.

Six ambitious runners - Wawa, Bandau, Kokorriko, Ariana Rose, Dita and Ms Guu - will race hard to be ‘first amongst equals’.

Smart Bolivian Gorgeous can spring some surprises with a place position and therefore should not be underestimated.

In the Race 4 Class D race, it is worth heading down to the tracks as well with a crowded field of 13 runners entered for the 1000m sand track race.

Magic Opa, Putera Sarawak, and Victoria Glory are tipped with Simpangan Girl and Ratu First are expected to challenge for top honours.

Also on Sunday in Kranji, Singapore, Royal Sabah Turf Club’s (RSTC) Sabah Ace is fully focused on delivering a good performance that can position him for a shot at Group 3 Cup glory in June.

Entered for the Race 8 over a distance of 1600m, Sabah Ace is in unfamiliar distance territory as well as facing some fierce competitors.

The consistent Aniki with an impeccable Class 3 record of one win and two third positions in his last three runs is favourite.

Black Storm had raced 1600m before with a solid second place and should be considered while Pacific MV can surprise given his impressive, full throttle home run on April 6, albeit over 1000m.

With in-form jockey Pinheiro astride, Sabah Ace needs to settle down quickly amongst the early leaders for the finale fight over the last 400m.

For today (Hong Kong meeting) and Sunday (Tambalang, Singapore and Selangor meetings) race details and timings and locations of RSTC “live” off-course telecast venues in Tanjung Aru and Keningau, please visit the Royal Sabah Turf Club website.
