TAEDSB celebrates unsung heroes of Sri Mengasih Centre
KOTA KINABALU: Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd (TAEDSB) paid Seri Mengasih Centre a corporate social responsibility (CSR) visit, spreading festive cheer among its teaching staff and students.
The management and staff team led by general manager Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin, JP., brought Raya goodie hampers to be distributed to the teachers of Seri Mengasih Centre.
This visit is also meant as a ‘thank you’ gesture to teachers of Seri Mengasih Centre, many of whom have served the centre for over a decade.
“We have a long-standing working relationship with Seri Mengasih Centre, seeing that the centre is located within our development purview,” said Jake.
“It is our responsibility to assist the centre in any way we can within our capacity,” he added.
According to Tulip Noorazyze, the Committee of Management Chairman and Board of Trustees Member of Seri Mengasih Centre, this event is incredibly meaningful for the special needs students, as it fosters a sense of inclusion within the society.
“We also thank TAEDSB for acknowledging the hard work and dedication of Seri Mengasih Centre teachers who are always here to support our students daily,” said Tulip.
She added that this is the first time a CSR programme is meant especially for the teachers and trainers. Previous CSR initiatives had always been specifically targeted towards the students.
Established in January 1981, Seri Mengasih Centre is a charity non-government organisation known as the Registered Trustees of Seri Mengasih Trust; relying mainly on fundraising projects, and public donations for its operation costs.
The centre operates as a special developmental day training centre providing specialised training for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities from as young as four years old up to adulthood.
Seri Mengasih Centre has 53 students and 15 teachers.
