Sabah Tennis Association to finalise Sukma squad after inter-affiliate tournament
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Tennis Association (STA) will finalise its Malaysia Games (Sukma) squad after the 36th Inter Affiliates Tournament, which is scheduled from May 2426 in Sandakan.
“Sabah hope to do well in Sarawak,” said STA president Johnson Koh in a statement after chairing Exco meeting here yesterday.
Sarawak will host the 21st edition of the country’s premier multi-sport event from August 17-24.
Meanwhile, Koh in the same statement said Sabah tennis will conduct its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Sandakan on May 23.
“The STA Exco had a meeting to formulate the final arrangements for the AGM and (inter-affiliate) tournament.
“Sandakan being this year’s host district reported all arrangements are in place for the tournament,” he said.
Koh went on to say that other matters discussed during the meeting were regarding other tournaments planned for this year namely the ATF 14and-under event, team tennis invitational, juniors circuit and the Sabah closed.
“The Exco also discussed the condition of the tennis courts in Likas and the drainage system that may bring dengue due to the clogged drains.
The secretary will write to the authority for action providing photos as proof,” he said.
Koh also said STA accounts were healthy and would be circulated to the affiliates after the final audit.
