KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is confident that Barisan Nasional ( BN) candidate in Sri Aman will win in the coming general election.

He made the assessment based on the majority votes garnered by the three assemblymen during the last state election.

In the last state election Snowdan Lawan ( Balai Ringin assemblyman) enjoyed 2,885 votes majority, Datuk Mong Dagang ( Bukit Begunan) had 2,773 votes majority and Datuk Francis Harden Hollis (Simanggang) had 2,447 majority.

The three state seats are under Sri Aman parliamentary seat.

Expressing optimism that BN will retain the seat, Najib said the total 8,105 total majority votes garnered by the three assemblymen will surely give BN a win.

About 5,000 people attended the gathering at Padang KPSU Lama.

The premier said the people should put the majority votes during the last state election for BN in the coming general election.

“If we win with a bigger majority, there is a possibility that I will come here (Sri Aman) for the fourth time,” Najib said.

Najib’s visit to Sri Aman on Thursday was his third one.

He added that more development could be implemented in Sri Aman for the next five years if BN was given another mandate in the coming general election.

“The people should exercise their voting power rightfully to continue with our transformation agenda,” Najib said.

Meanwhile, Masir Kujat, who is expected to be renominated, said all races in the area should give BN and Najib another mandate.

He said it was crucial for BN to continue ruling the country.

Masir also specifically mentioned Sri Aman, adding that there were still more to be done to transform the area.
