Instructor: Archery safe, offer many medals
MIRI: Archery is a safe sport and offers many medals to those who are interested to join competitions based on the various categories to be competed.
“Archery as a sports is safe - no one gets injured, because there are (safety) rules like archers are to shoot together in a group, and pull out arrows from the boards together,” said archery instructor David Ting who spoke at an introductory and demonstration of the sports he conducted at SJK (C) Chung Hua Miri ( Mei Kung) yesterday.
Over 400 Primary Four to Six students took part in the event and enjoyed the eye- opening trial sessions.
The event had enabled them to have hands- on experience of handling the bow and arrow.

He explained that archery is a challenging sport and encouraged students to sign up for archery classes as part of their cocurricular activity.
“Talented young archers can look forward to compete in championships like the Under12 in the MSSN, and progress to compete in the Under-15 for secondary school students,” he added.
Ting welcomed parents to visit the Merdeka Mall archery centre opposite Morsjaya Commercial Centre, Lambir so that they will have a better idea of what the sports is all about.
