Bos clinches second LTDL stage win

KUALA KANGSAR: Blanco Pro Cycling Team rider, Theo Bos continues to dominated the 2013 Le Tour de Langkawi.

The 29-year- old rider claimed his second stage wi n from Serdang, Kedah to Kuala Kangsar, a distance of 117.8km, with a time of two hours, 54 minutes and 48 seconds yesterday.

The race which once again ended in a bunch sprint saw Bos facing a tough fight from Italy’s Andrea Guardini of Astana Pro Team at the fi nishing line.

Bos also retained the yellow jersey as the current general classi f icat ion leader af ter accumulati­ng 6’ 54: 45s, just 10 seconds ahead of Guardini.

“It is up to the team strategy to maintain the jersey ( yellow jersey). Tomorrow’s (today) stage is going to be a hard stage, I hope I can arrive at the fi nishing line on time. We have to survive the stage race,” he said.

The blue j e r s ey ( sprint competitio­n) remained intact with him after a strong sprint at the finishing line. Bos accumulate­d 30 points with Guardini three pointS adrift.

“When I started sprinting to the fi nishing line, I thought that a rider from Garmin- Sharp was behind me but later Guardini emerged. Luckly, I could maintain my sprint to the fi nishing line,” said Bos.

In the Asian rider category ( White Jersey), China’s Wang Meiyin retained the jersey after accumulati­ng 6’54: 56s after two stages, just three seconds ahead of Malaysia’s Anuar Manan of Synergy- Baku Cycling Project. — Bernama
