Perlis prince urges Polish companies to expand businesses in Malaysia
KANGAR: The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has urged Polish companies to look for opportunities to grow their business in Malaysia which provided a conducive business environment.
He said Malaysia’s success was driven by business-friendly environment in terms of the Liberal Equity Policy, expatriate employment and attractive tax regimes.
“Polish companies should take advantage of the opportunities to expand their businesses in the field of biotechnology, information and communication technology, and research and development, as well as enhance cooperation with Malaysian companies and institutions of higher learning.
“I hope bilateral relations between Malaysia and Poland will be further strengthened through enhanced cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment and education,” he said when receiving Magdalena SkowyraJelonek, wife of Poland’s ambassador to Malaysia, and three Polish university officials at Istana Arau yesterday.
The university officials were University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow chancellor Dr Andrzej Szelc, Tischner European University in Krakow chancellor Prof Dr Marek Plasinki and Technical University of Lodz representative Elzbieta Jozefowicz.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) entered into collaboration with two Polish universities es - Warogy Warsaw University of Technology and Kozminski University - by signing a memorandum of understanding tanding (MOU) with them in September tember last year.

Speaking to reporters s after the courtesy call, UniMAP iMAP vice- chancellor Prof Datuk atuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin said UniMAP would expand its coltin collaboration with Polish institutions of higher learning in space research, automotive, , information technology and computer science.
UniMAP, which signed two MOUs with two universities in Warsaw last year, would sign letters of intent on cooperation with the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Tischner European University in Krakow, and Technical University of Lodz, he added.— Bernama
