SIBU: Political Science undergraduate Mohd Annuar, 24, refused to be bound to a wheelchair by turning up to support BN candidate for Sibu, Vincent Lau on Wednesday even though it was drizzling.

He muscled his way along a muddy path leading to a makeshift tent at ‘Simpang Tiga’ in Kampung Hilir to attend a political gathering, and some of those present that evening were impressed with his fighting spirit and determination.

The shy young lad, paralysed since young, knows that every vote matters for the BN as he waved a BN flag enthusiastically.

“I am here to give moral support to BN Sibu candidate Vincent Lau,” whispered Mohd Annuar.

Meanwhile, Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee, who was also present, described Lau as a man of few words but an action-oriented person.

He opined that Lau could help Sibu develop.

the people. They only talked,” lamented Dr Annuar.

Hence, he said, it was important for voters here to send Lau to Parliament come May 5.

Dr Annuar said with higher allocations as an MP, coupled with his allocation as a state assemblyman, collectively they would be able to bring more vibrant development to Sibu.

“A boat will move faster if it is fitted with two engines.”

Meanwhile, PBB Simpang Tiga sub-branch chairman Musa Ainnie urged voters to turn up in full force on polling day.

It was a hectic night for Lau, having just completed his campaigning near Sibu Bus Terminal before rushing to Nangka to campaign.
