Opposition supporter beats up longhouse folk

SIBU: A longhouse resident was punched by a man after he questioned the latter why he should not support the Barisan Nasional.

The incident happened at a longhouse in Sungai Assan here at 7.30am last Sunday.

The 65-year- old man stated in his police report that he had heard a group of men shouting outside the longhouse calling for support to the opposition.

He said he then walked out of the house with a few others and asked the group why he should not support the BN.

It was then that a man from the group gave him a punch, he recalled.
