PBB Youth hopes for more party reps in Federal Cabinet

-

KUCHING: The Youth wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), the Barisan Nasional backbone party in Sarawak, hopes more of the party’s winning candidates in the just- concluded 13th General Election (GE13) would be appointed to the new Federal Cabinet.

Vice- chief, Pandi Suhaili said the five-figure majorities secured by most of the 14 PBB candidates who won in the general election were a manifestation of the bumiputera hope for the state to be given greater attention by the Federal Government.

“The big increase in the number of votes garnered by PBB deserves special attention from our prime minister ( Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak),” he told Bernama here yesterday.

Of the 14 candidates who contested, PBB Youth chief Datuk Fadillah Yusof, who contested in the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency in GE13 secured the highest majority in the state with 21,443 votes, when he secured 29,559 votes to beat PKR candidate Ahmad Nazib Johari, who only managed 8,116 votes. — Bernama
