Hasbi attributes win to people’s confidence in BN
LIMBANG: The increase in the number of votes for Barisan Nasional ( BN) in Limbang parliamentary constituency shows that the people here have rejected the opposition.
This observation was made by newly re- elected Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, who said this was because the rural people recognised and appreciated BN's track record and achievements in bringing development.
“The people of Limbang want BN to continue its development agenda as more efforts are needed to uplift the economy of the rakyat,” he told the press after the announcement that he was reelected with a bigger majority.
Also present were Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang and Limbang walikota Sufian Mohat.
Hasbi won the Limbang seat with a landslide majority of 8,301 votes, garnering 12,999 votes against PKR chief Baru Bian who obtained 4,698 votes.
“We walk the talk and listen to the problems of the people on the ground not only during election but also before and after,” he said further.
He also pledged to continue serving the rakyat with dedication in order to bring more development to Limbang.
Earlier in his speech, Hasbi thanked the community in Limbang - the Bisayas, Kedayans, Ibans, Malay Brunei, Lun Bawangs and the Chinese - for giving him the mandate to serve another term as their ` wakil rakyat'.
At the same time, he thanked PBB and all BN component parties for working hard to ensure victory for the coalition.
