Baru under fire for post-election ‘quality control’

-

SIBU: State PKR chairman Baru Bian’s move to find better leaders to steer the party forward is tantamount to an insult to his present group of leaders and followers, PBB supreme council member Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said yesterday.

Baru has made a statement that PKR will start to ‘recruit quality people’.

Asked if Baru was implying his present leaders were hopeless, he said, “If that is so, then why did PKR place hopeless leaders as candidates? Imagine if they had ruled (the) government this time. What would have happened?

“The country ruled by people with little quality? Baru Bian still could not accept the fact that the people can think and evaluate who they want as leaders.

“They want quality leaders and they know BN has quality leaders to offer,” said Abdul Karim, who is Assistant Minister of Youth Development and Asajaya assemblyman.

PKR won one of the 15 seats contested in the just concluded 13th General Election through its Miri candidate Dr Michael Teo.
