Australia to continue strong ties with M’sia, says foreign minister
MELBOURNE: Australia’s strong relationship with Malaysia will continue, Foreign Minister Bob Carr said yesterday after the Barisan Nasional ( BN) coalition retained power in Malaysia’s 13th general election on Sunday.
“The relationship’s very important to us,’’ he told ABC radio.
Carr said Australia did not send election observers to Malaysia because it was not invited to do so.“
Without a request from the government, it’s not for Australia to declare that we’re going to have teams of our MPs going through their polling booths,” he said. — Bernama
