Dr Annuar presents certificates to martial art masters
SIBU: Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee yesterday presented certificates of recognition to nine martial art masters of Pencak Silat Sape’k Association.
He also presented letters appointing Saderi Jalil as the grand martial master of the association and Haron Rosli as his deputy.
The occasion was a fellowship gathering of the association held in collaboration with Angkatan Warisan Anak Sarawak (Awas) and Babussalam Mosque at Kampung Jeriah here.
About 100 others received certificates for completing a training course rolled out by the association recently.
Silat Sape’k was previously known as Sape-ak, which is one of the Melanau’s traditional martial arts originating from Matu District.
