Psychoeducation course from May to July
KUCHING: Family-link Family Caring Society will be organising a Family-Link psycho- education course every Wednesday from May to July.
The first class will be held on May 8 while the last class on July 3 with eight classes to be organised altogether. The class runs from 7.30pm to 9pm.
The course will be held at the Community Psychiatric Nursing meeting room, specialist clinic at Sarawak General Hospital.
The talk to be delivered in Mandarin aims for an audience of 15 to 30 family members.
The class schedules are as follows: Understanding Mental Illnesses (May 8), Communication with Patients (May 5), Understanding Treatment (May 22), Crisis Intervention (May 29), Prevent Relapse (June 12), Recovery (June 19), Rights and Advocacy (June 26) and Moving Forward (July 3).
Family-link Family Caring Society is a non-government organisation which organises psychoeducation programme for family members of psychiatric patients.
The society provides a platform for networking and mutual support among family members of psychiatric patients to make them competent in managing mentally ill family members.
