KUCHING: Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui will still helm 54-yearold Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) after its Central Working Committee ( CWC) rejected his resignation as their party president.

SUPP secretary- general Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian made this announcement to reporters during a press conference at the party’s headquarters yesterday.

“The CWC having discussed the letter of resignation dated May 7, 2013 from Datuk Seri Peter Chin, which was addressed to me, came to a conclusion that we do not accept the said letter,” said Dr Sim.

“CWC has concluded that it is not appropriate for Datuk Seri (Chin) to relinquish his post where he was unanimously elected in the Triennial Delegates Conference in December 2011,” he added.

Dr Sim stressed that the responsibility for the party’s poor performance at the recentlyconcluded 13th General Election should be collectively borne by the leaders of the party at all levels of its organisation.

He pointed out that the party was still awaiting the decision of the Registrar of Societies ( ROS) with regards to investigations into the alleged complaints of irregularities during intra party elections of delegates to the Triennial Delegates’ Conference
