‘Adopt positive attributes to stay competitive’
BINTULU: Local Bumiputera entrepreneurs, especially those in food business, must observe important traits such as quality, punctuality and hygiene to stay ahead and be competitive, said Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Talib Zulpilip.
Adopting these positive attributes would also ensure that their business would prosper and grow, he added.
Talib, who is also Sarawak Economic Development Corporation ( SEDC) chairman, gave this advice when officiating at the Food Handling Course organised by SEDC at BDA public library and auditorium

“This is an important course to attend because there are huge business opportunities in food industry,” he said.
He told the Bumiputera food operators that they should sell unique local food with different menus each day, which if promoted well could be their strength in winning customers that would include families with working parents and even foreigners.
“Make sure your food is delicious; provide fast service and make your environment clean and hygienic,” he advised.
Meanwhile, Bintulu Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Association chairman Pengiran Merais Pengiran Ismail hoped all the 51 participants would use the knowledge they gained from the one- day course to improve their business and productivity.
Among those present were Bintulu Resident Muhamad Yakup Kari, Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce Bintulu chairman Abdul Kadier Sahib,Temenggong Abang Suhaili Abang Muhamad and Pemanca Rosli Kamaruddin.
