Karaoke competition closes carnival
MARUDI: The Baram District Education Service Sports and Cultural Association (PSKPP) Carnival ended on Wednesday with a karaoke competition.
Selected participants from Upper Baram, Central Baram, Tutoh Apoh, Tinjar, and Lower Baram took part in the competition.
Cynthia Debbie Anthony of Lower Baram Zone won the women’s category, while Syazsawnti Saidur of Tinjar came in second and Sharon Simba of Central Baram was third.
The winner for the men’s category was Alfred Joumil of Tinjar Zone, while Abang Kamarudin Nasron (Central Baram) and Yusof Adlham (Upper Baram) were second and third respectively.
Baram Education officer Borhan Bujang said the PSKPP Carnival was held to select participants to represent Baram at the divisional level PSKPP Carnival to be held in Bekenu tomorrow (June 16).
In his speech – read by Baram School Management Unit head Muhammad Khawar Hezazy Uthman – Borhan said all participants had contributed their best service to ensure the PSKPP Carnival in the district is a success.
The PSKPP Carnival also aims to foster closes ties between teachers and support staff of schools in the district.
Muhammad Khawar and Sarawak administrative officer Siti Rohannie Yusof presented the prizes.
