As such, veterans now need not have travel all the way to Kuching when dealing with the association. This will ensure the effectiveness and success of the initiatives. A special briefing was held yesterday for army officers and personnel appointed to handle the service.

Monday said the briefing was aimed at providing them with greater understanding on common issues faced by veterans and their families.

He hoped now that the 1MVAP could be found at four locations in the state, the veteran would not have to incur much to travel to the centre nearest to them when applying for assistance, forwarding complaints or other queries.

Apart from army officers and veterans from the camps concerned, representatives from Ex- Malaysian Armed Forces Association, Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association Sarawak, 1Malaysia NonPensioned Veterans Association and Sarawak Rangers Veterans Association were also present at yesterday’s briefing.
