GEM Tang, Yoga Lin ‘never dated’, accused of misleading media
HONG KONG: Hong Kong singer GEM Tang, 22, and Taiwanese singer Yoga Lin, 26, have apparently never dated, and are now being accused of misleading the media.
They are now being accused of fabricating news about the status of their relationship to generate publicity.
Media reports say that last year, GEM and Yoga started manipulating the press by holding hands during the Golden Melody Awards.
A showbiz insider disclosed: “Actually, GEM Tang and Yoga Lin were never a couple. They are new artists and wanted to generate publicity.”
According to the insider, the supposed “break-up” was also another move to generate buzz.

After news of the supposed break-up, GEM has refused to meet the media.
She cited a I Am A Singer 2 rule banning interviews. However, reporters did not face this problem when they interviewed other contestants on the show including Han Lei and Jason Zhang.
Meanwhile, a representative of Yoga’s record label, HIM International Music has dismissed rumours that he is dating Andrea Chen.
Entertainment tabloids have alleged that Yoga has been dating Taiwanese model- actress Andrea since 2008.
She had starred in his music video, Mysterious Guest.
Andrea, who was also known for her resemblance to Hong Kong actress Vivian Chow, later joined HIM International Music.
Recently, Andrea uploaded an intimate photo of her with Yoga online. Fans speculated that this was done to spite GEM.
However, HIM International Music has dismissed such speculations. A representative of the company clarified that Andrea and Yoga rarely communicate with each other because they are in different departments.
The representative also explained that the photo was not intimate at all, and was taken during a public event.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong media have revealed that Yoga is dating singer Kiki Ding, who is three years his senior.
They had met through mutual friends, members of S.H.E. during the Formoz Festival in Taiwan last August.
Apparently, they had spent Valentine’s Day together.
On Valentine’s Day, Kiki posted on Weibo, “We love each other and we are the happiest in the world.”
HIM International Music did not deny the reports and only replied, “No comment.”
Confronted with the latest development, GEM shot back: “I do not want to talk about it further.”
With the number of romances that he’s busy juggling, fans are wondering how Yoga could find the time to actually record albums and plan for concerts.
But then again, he’s known for setting records.
In June 2008, Yoga set a record in Taiwan for being the youngest singer, with a yet-to-be released debut album to hold a solo concert tour in three major cities.
Three cities, three ladies. Yoga seems to be good at hattricks.
