UCSI University student aces Edexcel Advanced exam
KUCHING: UCSI University Sarawak Campus student Geraldine Chen scored 3As in all her subjects for the recent Edexcel Advanced Level Examination.
Centre for Pre- U Studies programme coordinator Mukvinder Sandhu explained that the grades are equivalent to getting all A+s.
Chen, who took Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, said there are no secrets behind her success.
“All efforts are useless if we do not fully focus during our face-toface sessions with our lecturers in the classroom,” she said in a media release here yesterday.
“I am still weighing various options and I might consider Queen’s University, Belfast to be my next destination in order to pursue my degree in Pharmacy.”
Chen said during her time at UCSI University, she really benefited from the attention of the lecturers.
“They were not only lecturers but were our motivators and we even felt that they were like our parents at school,” she said.
Other high achievers were Jong Wen Ling, Wong Boon Kai and Emilia Chan.
“We aim to make a substantial differenceinourstudents’academic lives especially in equipping our young students with the skills and knowledge to thrive and excel in their undergraduate studies at university,” said Mukvinder.

UCSI University Sarawak Campus currently offers Foundation Studies, Arts and Science Streams.
The minimum requirement to enrol in UCSI’s Foundation Studies is five credits in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).
The one-year programme offers routes into degree programmes such as Biotechnology, Food Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Optometry, Engineering, Architecture, Psychology, Fashion Design, Mass Communication, Accounting and Finance, Hospitality Management, Event and Tourism Management as well as Commerce.
