KUCHING: Maxis Berhad recently gave 400 customers from throughout Sarawak a free trip back to their hometowns under its ‘Free Ride Home’ programme.

A total of 300 bus tickets and 100 express boat tickets were given to its postpaid and prepaid ( Hotlink) customers travelling back to their respective hometowns between May 17 and June 2 to celebrate Gawai Dayak.

“We’re thrilled that our ‘Free Ride Home’ campaign was a success and that all 400 tickets were redeemed by our customers, who made their way safely to their hometowns to celebrate Gawai with their loved ones,” said Maxis head of Sarawak region Alexius Bong in a press statement.

He said all tickets in Kuching were snapped up in just one day.

“This initiative was part of our efforts in rewarding customers for their loyal support, and we hope that we added some joy into their lives, especially during this festive season,” he added.

From May 17-30, customers were able to redeem free bus tickets to travel from Kuching, Bintulu or Miri to anywhere within the state whereas for the free express boat tickets, they were able to redeem tickets for travel from Sibu to Kapit.

All customers had to do was to go to the Hotlink counter at the selected bus stations or boat terminals during the redemption period to register their interest, where they were guided on the redemption process.

Non- Maxis and non- Hotlink customers were also eligible for the free tickets if they purchased a # Hotlink pack at any of the locations.

Customers who redeemed the tickets expressed their appreciation to Maxis for offering rewards such as the ‘ Free Ride Home’ programme, especially during Gawai.

They also commented on # Hotlink’s offerings, especially the free Internet and low call rates.
