Ranbir-Ranveer rivalry shakes up status quo in Bollywood
MUMBAI: Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, both of whom have been linked with actress Deepika Padukone, have shaken up the status quo in Bollywood with their renewed rivalry.
Deepika has reportedly ditched Ranbir for his serial dating habits. Things came to a head when Ranveer taunted Ranbir by gloating that Deepika is the ‘hottest’ girlfriend he has ever dated.
Predictably, Ranbir reacted with fury.
Although showbiz newsmen have repeatedly reported on the smouldering romance between Ranveer and Deepika, she has yet to confi rm that there has truly been some off- screen chemistry between them.
Also livening up things in Bollywood is the on- off rivalry between top actors Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, an animosity that dates back to 2008.
Shah Rukh and Salman came to blows during Katrina Kaif’s birthday party. What sparked it off was an argument over their TV shows. Since then, they have never really been on friendly terms.
In 2012, Shah Rukh made headlines when he slapped director Shirish Kunder. The incident took place at the Agneepath success party organised by Sanjay Dutt. Shirish and his wife Farah Khan were close friends with Shah Rukh.
Apparently, Shirish was miffed because Shah Rukh had rejected a key role in the movie ‘Joker’. Moreover, he publicly denigrated Shah Rukh’s dream project RA- One. Eyewitnesses claim that during a party, Shirish was insulting Shah Rukh with snide comments, until he fi nally retaliated and a scuffle broke out.
Also notable among rivalries in Bollywood was the public spat between Salman and Hrithik Roshan.
