Intruder at Sandra Bullock’s LA home held on US$50,000 bail
LOS ANGELES: An intruder arrested at the Los Angeles residence of actress Sandra Bullock while the Oscar winner was home is being held on US$ 50,000 bail on Monday, according to county jail records.
Joshua Corbett, 39, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, a felony, on Sunday morning at Bullock’s property after an emergency call was placed from the home, Los Angeles Police spokeswoman Wendy Reyes said.
Police said the actress, best known for films such as ‘ Gravity’ and ‘ The Blind Side’, was unharmed.
A message left with Bullock’s publicist was not immediately returned, but a representative for the star told People magazine the 49-year- old actress was “fine.”
Meanwhile, the man reportedly had an “obsession” with the actress.
Corbett was said to have been going through the ‘ Blind Side’ star’s personal items when police picked him up inside her Los Angeles house in the morning of June 8, and also kept a diary about the Hollywood beauty, law enforcement sources told ‘ Today’.
Though it has not been revealed how the man was able to gain entry into the property, police were on the scene within four minutes of the alarm being raised.
The scary incident came just hours after Sandra was presented with the Decade of Hotness prize at the Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards, held at the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, on June 6.
The brunette beauty was presented with an antler trophy, a stunning tiara, a sash, and a beautiful bouquet of roses, before she gave her lighthearted acceptance speech.
She quipped: “I feel like I’m at my funeral.
“Decade of Hotness ... My question was what decade? I have several under my belt. It should really be Decade of Hot Mess. That I can own and I do that well and I’m still convinced I’m up here because someone dropped out and they needed someone quickly and we know I’m home on Saturdays.”— Reuters/ BANG Showbiz
