BEEP gives grants, also empowers SMEs
The Bumiputera Enterprise Enhancement Programme ( BEEP) goes beyond assisting small and medium enterprises ( SMEs) with grants, but more importantly, it empowers them in technical and management aspects of their company.
Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office ( Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Development) Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais said this allowed small businesses to grow into a bigger corporation through good work culture and management practices.
Speaking at the handover ceremony of BEEP offer letters and 5S Certification at Malaysia Productivity Corporation ( MPC), Naroden urged more Bumiputera SMEs to join the 43 that were already approved and find out how they can be part of BEEP.

assistance package which covers financial aid and advice to start micro, small and medium Bumiputera enterprises that are dynamic, competitive, sustainable and productive.
Via this programme, companies are advised to also take the 5S Certification where the 5S practices are adopted. Those who qualify for 5S also receive a grant under that programme.

Those interested can contact SME Corp Malaysia, Bumiputera Entrepreneur Development Unit ( UPUB) under the Chief Minister’s Department or relevant panel agencies such as MPC, MIDF, SEDC, Mara, Tekun, Weda at Agriculture Department, local councils and also through Bumiputera entrepreneur associations in the state.
Larger businesses with project proposals of no more than RM2.5 million can reach out to Teraju Sarawak at Chief Minister’s Department to apply for a grant of 15 per cent of their project cost.
BEEP grant offer letters were presented to six companies, namely MUSC Food Industry Sdn Bhd, Bizzie Trading Sdn Bhd, Puteri Sejinjang SPA, Setara Vista Sdn Bhd, Jepak Holding Sdn Bhd, and Perlancongan Merdeka Sdn Bhd.
Meanwhile, four companies received their 5S Certification under BEEP. They are DTC Entreprise Sdn Bhd, JFAM Logistic Sdn Bhd, Pertama Bakery Sdn Bhd, and Thihaduha Entreprise.
Among those present was SME Corp Malaysia Sarawak director Ursla Unnie.
