Malaysian O&G players set to make their mark at OSEA2014
More than 1,600 stalwarts from the oil and gas ( O& G) industry, including 19 of Malaysia’s industry giants, will be making their presence felt at OSEA2014, Asia’s biennial premier O& G trade platform, which will be held from December 2 to 5 this year.
Following the resounding success of the previous edition, OSEA2012, which saw over 27,000 attendees, this year’s exhibition and conference looks forward to drawing more than 28,000 trade visitors from 45 countries and regions.
Over 2,100 Malaysians from companies such as Cameron International Malaysia Systems, Cergas Oilfield & Engineering, Exxonmobil Exploration & Production, FMC Wellhead Equipment, Galperti Group, Petronas, Murphy Oil Corp, Petra Energy and many more, attended the previous edition.
This Platinum edition (20th) of OSEA2014 will showcase the latest equipment, technology and applications in the O& G industry to tap into the region’s increasing need for more sophisticated technologies and solutions in oil and gas, and will span across an impressive 36,000 square meters of space at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
Among the leading Malaysian players at the exhibition include Anticorrosion Protective Systems (M) Sdn Bhd, API SchmidtBretten South East Asia Sdn Bhd, Bekaert, Intralink Techno Sdn Bhd, JK Schelkis Offshore Sdn Bhd, Lima Bintang Shipping & Forwarding Sdn Bhd, Swift Energy Sdn Bhd, and Tetra Synergy Engineering Sdn Bhd.
A returning exhibitor, Ann Joo Metal Sdn Bhd (Ann Joo Metal) considers OSEA2014 a timely opportunity to uncover new business opportunities and showcase their products to the regional market.
“OSEA2014 provides an ideal opportunity for networking with industry members and forging many new and potential business relationships, as it gathers exhibitors and trade visitors from all over the world under one roof.
“We also look forward to being able to showcase our product portfolio during this show, which comprises a diverse range of high-grade steel products for local and regional markets,” Lawrence Lim, managing director of Ann Joo Metal, said.
There are over 3,500 O& G businesses in Malaysia comprising international oil companies, independents, services and manufacturing companies that support the needs of the O& G value chain both domestically and regionally.
Many major global machinery and equipment ( M& E) manufacturers have set up bases in Malaysia to complement homegrown M& E companies, while other Malaysian O& G companies are focused on key strategic segments such as marine, drilling, engineering, fabrication, offshore installation, and operations and maintenance.
With the Malaysian government’s vision to transform Malaysia into a regional oil and gas hub by 2020, the O& G industry is continuously seeking to implement the latest technology to enhance and maximise production.
Thus OSEA2014 provides an excellent and timely international platform for engagement and productive discourse among key industry players.
With about four months to its opening day, OSEA2014 has already witnessed a 20 per cent growth in the participation of international exhibitors compared to its previous edition in 2012 and the event continues to expand its exhibition space to cater to industry’s demands.
Sixteen international group pavilions will be present, including three new groups from Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
