Riding on current practical embrace, Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak ( Teras) shall claim its right not only to Tasik Biru but also four other state seats currently held by them.

Responding to recent newspaper reports regarding Teras’ claim for seats represented by incumbent elected representatives now with the party, its deputy treasurer general Dr Joseph Eby Ruin said when the five assemblymen left the party and got united under a new platform it showed that resources cannot be discounted just like that.

“The resources have proven values which should not be wasted when the state BN not only endorsed or recognised these assemblymen, but they are the de facto BN leaders or agents as they perform their daily official governmental duties.

“Riding on this current practical embrace Teras, for the coming state election, shall not only claim its right to Tasik Biru seat, but also to other four incumbent seats, namely Pakan, Bekenu, Marudi and Batu Danau,” he said.

The resources have proven values which should not be wasted when the state BN not only endorsed or recognised these assemblymen, but they are the de facto BN leaders or agents as they perform their daily official governmental duties. Dr Joseph Eby Ruin, Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras) deputy treasurer general

always have faith in the way the state is being run and led by experienced and capable Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem.

“As the chairman of the state BN he (Adenan) knows what is best for the state. We can say that the end justifies the mean, and not the other way round,” he argued.

Eby added the fact remains that when Teras was formed, it has this BN- spirit, and aspire to be a contributive member of Sarawak state BN.

“From Day One it has always been friendly and fully cooperative to the state BN. This is very obvious when it leaders are part and parcel of the current government machinery.

“Howsoever one looks at it as (i) `outside the BN’, or (ii) ` yet to be inside the BN’, or (iii) ` not in the BN officially on record, etc’, the substance that matters is the performances and the accordance of status (as state BN government ally) and not as an agent of state opposition,” he stressed.

Nonetheless, he said, the five seats in question were not claimed as personal to holder by the incumbents to defend but for Teras to safeguard with intact.

“The incumbents may or may not be selected by the party to defend them but knowing the track records, capability and effectiveness of the incumbents however it does make sense though that Teras will definitely recommend to BN for all its incumbents to stand as BN candidates in their respective constituencies as they are all most winnable there.

“The essence is that these seats are Teras custodial, and it is not going to renege from this obligation, commitment, political governance, and responsibility to the voters there,” Eby said.
