Local Bumiputeras urged to bring franchise business to Sarawak

-

KUCHING: Local Bumiputera businesses in the state are encouraged to be bold enough in bringing big franchise businesses to Sarawak.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office ( Bumiputera Entrepreneur Development) Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais said this during the launch of a smoothies and bubble tea drinks bar franchise known as Cool Blog at Kuching International Airport yesterday.

The outlet was opened by a group of Sarawakian Bumiputeras operating through a company known as Airtone Enterprise.

Naroden believed that his ministry and the various implementing agencies in the state had the tools to assist local businesses and what’s important was that more Bumiputeras must have the ability to dream big and be more adventurous in their business ventures.

“Nothing satisfies me more than to see more Bumiputeras in Sarawak willing to venture into things that are not known by many people here.

“I hope to see many Bumiputeras in Sarawak having that capability to run their businesses more efficiently too,” he added.

He also said that Sarawak still needed more Bumiputeras to venture into the world of entrepreneurship.

“I believe there are so many out there who are interested in entrepreneurship. I will continue to promote this idea to the Bumiputera community from time-to-time,” he said.

He added that if there were any Bumiputera businesses out there needing loans or other assistance, he urged them to ask around and find out the proper channels from the government which could help them.

Sarawak currently has 10,000 to 15,000 Bumiputera- owned businesses operating all over the state.
