-

SIBU: The Housing Ministry and Sarawak Housing and Real Estates Developers Association ( Sheda) will jointly run a series of seminars across the state from March 25 to April 7.

The objective is to raise awareness on the newly implemented Housing Development Ordinance ( HDO), Housing Development Regulations ( HDR) and Housing Development Account (HDA).

Sheda Sibu president Penghulu Ting Teck Kai said the new rules and regulations would regulate orderly growth of the housing sector, while ensuring that interests of housing developers and rights of home buyers would be taken care of.

“Developers, consultants, bankers, lawyers and other stakeholders should understand and comply with the new requirements,” he said at a press conference yesterday.

The seminar will be held on April 7, from 8am to 4pm, at RH Hotel here.

Ting invited local developers and also those from Kapit, Sarikei, Meradong and Mukah to attend the seminar, which would also be an opportunity for them to seek clarification.

Ting said registration fee would be RM50 for Sheda members and RM100 for non-members. So far, 50 people have already registered.
