Volvo M’sia opens new dealership in Ipoh
IPOH: Volvo Malaysia, the distributor for Volvo and Renault Trucks in the country, has opened its newest dealership here to better serve the aftermarket needs of its customers.
Managing Director Mats Nilsson said the new dealership marked another achievement in the company’s strategic implementation of its Dealer Operating Standard Enhancement Programme.
“The programme was initiated three years ago in line with our corporate vision to ensure all dealership processes comply with Volvo standards of quality products and services,” he said at the opening of the premises here, yesterday.
Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia Bengt Carlsson was present.
He said the high volume of commercial vehicles transporting goods through the North-South Expressway made Ipoh an important pit stop for vehicle check, service or repair.
Operating in a standalone building with a land area of 8,361 square metres and built-up area of 1,160 square metres, the Ipoh dealership has six work bays, a wash bay and the latest tools and equipments for truck diagnosis, service and repairs.
Nilssom said customers could also look forward to a shorter waiting time and improved uptime of their vehicles.
“But more than just customer service, this new Ipoh dealership seeks to bolster our role in helping to grow the Malaysian economy.
“The transportation and haulage industry is no doubt a vital industry and I assure you that Volvo Malaysia is here to stay as a solid manufacturer, supplier and partner,” he said.
In his speech, Carlsson said he was happy to see that Volvo - one of Sweden’s most successful global brand export - continued to make progressive achievements in Malaysia and has taken its own initiatives to broaden its growth prospects in the country.
“Perak is part of the Northern Corridor Economic Region that would contribute to Malaysia’s economic growth and leverage on its strengths in agriculture, manufacturing, logistics and tourism industries,” he said. — Bernama
