The college has just launched its new programme, Diploma in Environmental Health and Safety, which deals with protection against environmental factors that may adversely impact human health; or ecological balances essential to long-term human health and environmental quality in the natural or man-made environment.

Graduates of this programme will get the opportunity to further their studies to degree level at selected universities or take up many openings in this field as in assistant environmental health officer, food hygienist, food safety officer, vector control officer, solid waste management personnel, and land development specialist in the public or private sectors.

FIC’s capstone programme, Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health is to date the only college diploma in occupational safety and health programme recognised by Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia and Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, UK (IOSH) simultaneously, with accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) in East Malaysia.

The DOSH recognition enables graduates to register as safety and health officer or SHO with DOSH upon completion of three years’ relevant working experience.

The college’s Diploma in Accountancy, approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE), is the only college diploma that incorporate GST application and computerised accounting with full accreditation from the MQA, making it one of the most sought after accounting qualification locally.

With this accreditation, the diploma is assured of wide acceptance both in academic and the industry, especially with the programme’s unique design.

Graduates of this programme are able to obtain three different qualifications or academic awards upon completion of the course, namely Diploma in Accountancy, Certified Technician Accounting (CAT) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK and the Association of International Accountants (AIA).

Both ACCA and AIA are professional qualifications recognised by the Public Services Department (JPA) as equivalent to honours degree.

This arrangement enables SPM school leavers to earn their degree in less then three years after their SPM.

Other programmes open for intake include Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Human Resource Management.

Financial assistance is available to needy students as FIC continues to provide scholarships to top students who sign up for any of the programmes.
