MACC Investigation Division director Datuk Mohd Jamidan Abdullah said he would discuss with the Legal and Prosecution Division to determine the case of 16 individuals, including six navy personnel who were arrested in the investigation of the case.

“MACC has actually detected misappropriation from the aspect of contract procurement involving middlemen who acted on behalf of the navy officers.

years from 2012 until 2014,” he told reporters after attending the ending of MACC officers’ basic training course parade at the Malaysian Anti- Corruption Academy here yesterday.

Also present were Deputy Chief Commissioner ( Management and Professionalism) Datuk Zakaria Jaffar and Deputy Chief Commissioner ( Prevention) Datuk Mustafar Ali.

Jamidan said he did not rule out the possibility of other individuals being involved and currently several evidence were being gathered to complete the investigation papers.

“MACC needed to see as a whole the evidence obtained from the six individuals involved (navy personnel) and there is a big possibility others are also involved,” he said.

On Wednesday Mohd Jamidan in a statement confirmed that 16 individuals, including six navy personnel were detained on March 9 and 11 to facilitate investigations.

He said all 16 were released after being detained for seven to 10 days but the investigations were ongoing. — Bernama
