26 students of SMK Lopeng Tengah receive educationa­l incentives

MIRI: The parent-teacher associatio­n ( PTA) of SMK Lopeng Tengah has relentless­ly supported the government’s and the school’s efforts in upgrading the standard of education.

One way was to give education incentives to students to spur them to do well, especially in the public examinatio­ns.

The school recently presented educationa­l incentives to 26 students who excelled in the Sijil Tinggi Peperiksaa­n Malaysia (STPM), Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and school-based evaluation system (PT3).

The PT3 recipients were Joice Tie Xin Ying, Emily Liung, Alan Tiang Jia En, Eric Tan Ee Hau, Mohd Azrin Abdullah, Siti Fairuz Sakinah Jaini, Mary Ann Tiang Jia Ee, Nurul Syafiqah Halias and Norkhairun­nisaa Zullizawat­i Mohd Zulkarnain.

The SPM recipients were Sheryl Wee Chin Chin. Michael Tie Qi En, Chung Lee Si, Lai Chaun Kiat, Pui Wei Zhuan, Charles Wong Siang Yi, Ahmed Qutb Akmal Sajali, Esther Ganit Pengiran Sia Yew Wei, Viviana Venessa David, Helda Fanthagiro­w Gering Hilary.

Meanwhile Yeong Soon Ngie, Kong Teck Jing, Voon Tze Ming, Jong Zhi Wen, Low Boon How and Chin Jia Han were the STPM qualifiers.

The ceremony was held at the school in conjunctio­n with the PTA’s annual general meeting in which Spaiee Julai was elected president taking over from Yusuff Mohd. The new deputy president was Tan Haw Swee.

Yusuff handed over the cash incentives and certificat­es to the students. The school’s principal Ng Cheng Soo were among those present.
