Syafiqah, Zaini claim April honours
KUCHING: Sukma bowlers continued to shine at the Megalanes Adventure World bowling lanes with Nur Syafiqah Datu Sajeli becoming the latest bowler to win the Average 194 and Below of the recent “Real Bowlers At Work” competition.
In the 12- bowler April finals, Syafiqah felled a total of 1,983 pinfalls over 10 games to finish 48 pinfalls ahead of Razif Safini, who also placed second in March finals.
Finishing in third place was Galliano Edward with 1,930 pinfalls, followed by Hairul Azhar ( 1797) and Zainuddin Mat Libi (1,792) in fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Occupying the sixth to 12th positions were Allexiss Oneil Edward, Alvin Andrew, Sazali Yunus, Mohd Rafizan, Edward Juit and Raphael Edward.
Syafiqah received a trophy and RM350 while Razif got RM250 and a trophy and Galliano pocketed RM150 and a trophy.
In the Average 164 and Below category, Zaini Rawi rolled to his first Bowler of the Month title with his total pinfalls of 1,421 over eight games.
Seven pinfalls behind the champion was Wan Ibrahim whi le Sazal i Yunus claimed the third spot with 1,388 pinfalls.
Hairul Azhar and Halimah Arrifin were fourth and fifth with 1,385 pinfalls and 1,296 pinfalls respectively.
In sixth to 12th spots were Bemen Wong, February and March winner Mohd Zuhayr, Nor Solehan, KH Tsen, Fazreen Fadzuan, Sang Rajuna and Aiman Daniel.
The champion was rewarded with RM250 and a trophy while first runner-up received RM150 and a trophy and third- placed winner received RM100 and a trophy.
Real Bowlers At Work is a monthly competition organised by Megalanes Adventure World for bowlers who score averages of 194 and below, and 169 and below.
Only 18 bowlers who collect the highest points in the year- long competition will qualify for the Grand Finals on November 3.
The points for the champions are 10, first runners-up eight, third six while the finalists will get two points. All monthly champions will enjoy the honour of getting their posters hanged on the MAW walls and their photographs printed in MAW calendar for 2016.
