Inculcate high discipline and moral values, says Talib

BINTULU: The people, especially youths have been reminded to inculcate high discipline and moral values in order to gain respect and recognitio­n within their community and the society.

The concept of discipline must be emphasised. With high discipline, the people will progress and there will be works and developmen­t.

Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Talib Zulpilip reminded that only those with high discipline in life would become successful persons.

With high discipline, the people will progress and there will be works and developmen­t. “he said when officiatin­g at the opening ceremony of ‘ The Challenge of Knowing Vaie from the perspectiv­e of PBB’ organised by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) Kampung Sebiew sub-branch at Bangunan Martabat yester- day.

“PBB strongly emphasises the concept of discipline because if not it will be difficult for the party to guide the others,” said the Jepak assemblyma­n.

He said, through the culture of discipline, a fight can be avoided within the party and people will remained united.

According to Talib, various events were held by its subbranche­s here and it had proven that the members were united and this would ensure the success of Vaie children.

At the event, he announced an allocation of RM5,000 to help the organiser while urging for it to be organised on a larged scale in the future.

The programme was aimed at enhancing the usage of ‘ Vaie’ ( local dialect in Bintulu) to the participan­ts to promote interestin­g places and the way of life of Melanau Vaie Segan in Bintulu.

Among those present were PBB Kampung Sebiew sub-branch chairman Salam Mahrup, PBB Jepak women chief Hamdiah Ahmad, PBB Jepak youth chief Othman Mat, Pemanca Rosli Kamaruddin, organising chairman Mohd Ariffin Abdullah and secretary Mahli Beji.
