MYNIC targets 5,000 smes to use ‘Business Online Bundle’ package

-

PUTRAJAYA: A total of 5,000 Small and Medium Enterprise ( SME) entrepreneurs especially the young generation are expected to use Business Online Bundle ( BOB) package to help equip their business with basic online facilities, by the end of this year.

MYNIC Bhd chief executive officer, Hasnul Fadhly Hasan said the package offered by the agency facilitates entrepreneurs in getting domain name, professional email, website hosting and antivirus protection to help them launch any business.

MYNIC is an agency under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia and is regulated by the Malaysian Communication and Multimdeia Commission.

The agency is the sole administrator for web addresses that end with .my in Malaysia.

“Statistics showed there are 45,000 new companies and 350,000 businesses that are registered every year, and out of this figure only one in seven has an online presence,” he said in a media briefing on BOB here, recently.

Hasnul Fadhly said among the obstacles that had been identified were high cost of preparation and maintenance, constraints in providing technical infrastructure, difficulty in getting solution in one place and time constraint.

He said with the reasonable promotional price of BOB at RM180 (including Goods and Services Tax), consumers could save up to 51 per cent compared with buying the items separately which cost RM370 overall.

Traders are also given the choice of getting a one- day website training using Wordpress platform at RM100.

The promotional price starts from November 16 until year- end and those who are interested can buy the package via the official website at www.bisnesbundleonline or through authorised agents. — Bernama
