Pos Malaysia launches Pos Agents project in Lundu

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd launched the Pos Authorised Agents project at Pusat Internet 1Malaysia in Kampung Pandan in Lundu, Sarawak on Feb 27.

In a statement yesterday, Pos Malaysia Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said the project in Lundu will also serve as the main call point for delivery services to the nearest vicinities in the southern region of Sarawak.

The Pos Agents project offers products and services to rural communitie­s, including Pos Laju posting (on demand), registered and ordinary mail, Pos Express and Pos Laju prepaid envelopes/ boxes, stamps and postal registered items.

Mohd Shukrie said 70 premises in Kampung Bajo, Lundu will be given identifica­tion numbers as part of a citizen outreach agenda under the Address for All (AFA) project.

“A complete address will ensure all efforts to reach out to the citizens in terms of socioecono­mics, security, utilities, disaster relief and emergency management can be channelled efficientl­y,” he said.

The AFA project, in progress since 2015, aims to ensure all premises are equipped with complete addresses by 2020.

Mohd Shukrie also said Pos- OnWheels ( POW) mobile services will be provided in various locations in Lundu between 9am and 3pm daily, offering a range of services similar to a normal post office. — Bernama
