Mong advises voters in Samalaju to support PRS’ Majang
KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS) vice-president Datuk Mong Dagang has advised voters in Samalaju to give a thumping victory to BN ( Barisan Nasional) nominated candidate from PRS Majang Renggi in the coming state election.
He stressed that there should be no confusion as the seat had already been allocated to PRS. Mong also thanked Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem for giving the trust to PRS in Samalaju.
He called on all the four BN components in Samalaju to work together to ensure a BN victory.
“SPDP, SUPP and PBB must help PRS to win the seat in the coming state election since it has been given to PRS to represent the BN here in Samalaju,” said Mong at a gathering in Rumah Sulang Arah, Sungai Tajan in Suai, Bintulu over the weekend.
He said PRS, being a Dayakbased party, was allocated the seat because the majority of the voters in Samalaju were from the community.
“This concept of powersharing has proven to be effective in keeping BN in power and thus must be maintained and strengthened,” stressed Mong. PRS has nominated Majang who is a political secretary to the chief minister, as its candidate for Samalaju.
“This has been agreed by the chief minister and PRS president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing,” he said. Mong, who is also the Assistant Minister of Agriculture (Research and Marketing) reiterated that it was vital for the BN to win Samalaju so that the people in the constituency could benefit from the development in the area.
“We must not be left behind as we know our CM is concentrating on rural development.
“Only a BN representative can deliver and provide the development to the area,” he stressed. Meanwhile, Temenggong Atong Limping also urged voters in Samalaju to give their undivided support to Majang.
Atong said Majang was a seasoned politician and had the capacity and quality to deliver a good service for the BN.
Samalaju is one of the 11 new seats created after the recent delineation exercise.
Lubok Antu MP Datuk William Nyalau Badak, PRS exco members and more than 30 longhouse chiefs from Suai also attended the function.
