Nissom says BN components in Tasik Biru behind Henry

-

BAU: Barisan Nasional ( BN) component parties in Tasik Biru were said to have given their full support to Sarawak Progressive Democrat ic Party’s ( SPDP) recommended candidate Dato Henry Harry Jinep.

According to Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS) Tasik Biru chief Datuk Wil fred Rata Nissom, the three BN components have accepted the fact that Tasik Biru was traditionally allocated to SPDP, hence the BN candidate for Tasik Biru should be from the party.

“It is the duty of BN components to help each other, and in this case we help SPDP in Tasik Biru. All the three components fully support Dato Henry Harry Jinep as the candidate for this seat. There should not be any more confusion regarding this,” he said.

Nissom, who is a lso PRS secretary- general, mentioned these at a ‘Program Desa Ke Desa’ ( Village to Village Programme) organised at Kampung Suba Bau near here recently to introduce Henry to the voters.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) Tasik Biru chief John Nyigor who also spoke, said the four BN components in Tasik Biru were unanimous in wanting Henry to be the new BN candidate in Tasik Biru.

SPDP Tasik Biru chief Michael Siten, in expressing his gratitude on behalf of the party to the other BN components for their support, said SPDP would never give up Tasik Biru which is one of its eight traditional seats.

“This programme is organised to introduce to the people and to tell them that Dato Henry Harry Jinep will replace Datuk Peter Nansian in the coming election (as BN candidate),” he said.

He also concurred with his fellow SPDP supreme council member Joing Mideh’s recent statement that RM300 million worth of projects pledged as development blueprint for the next five years by the incumbent Nansian was nothing more than an extremely extravagant promise.

“There is no need to wait another five years for the RM300 million when he could have gotten it now,” said Siten.

Meanwhile, Suba Bau village chief Lehen Minyu said the presence of many village folk at the hall, where the programme took place, showed that Henry was popular among Tasik Biru people.

He said the attendance indicated good support from the village for the candidacy of Henry.

SPDP recent ly nominated corporate figure Henry Harry Jinep to replace Nansian as the BN candidate for Tasik Biru.
