TDM posts higher revenue, earnings for 4Q15

KUCHING: TDM Bhd ( TDM) registered higher revenue and earnings for the fourth quarter of 2015 ( 4Q15).

The company in a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Monday said net profit in 4Q15 soared by 186 per cent year- on- year ( y- o- y) to RM56.73 million from RM19.83 million in 4Q14.

Similarly, TDM noted 4Q15 revenue improved by 13.3 per cent y- o- y to RM112.93 million as compared with RM99.65 million in 4Q14.

TDM in its accounts notes filed to the stock exchange said the higher revenue for 4Q15 was attributed to increased contributi­on from its healthcare division which rose 28 per cent y- o- y to RM44.56 million and six per cent increase from its plantation division to RM69.37 million.

The higher revenue from its healthcare division in 4Q15 was due to higher inpatient admissions by 20 per cent and higher inpatient days by 24 per cent against 4Q14.

Additional­ly, the increased revenue from its plantation division was due to higher crude palm oil ( CPO) and palm kernel ( PK) production­s as well as higher realised average selling prices of CPO and PK in 4Q15.

For financial year 2015 ( FY15) ended Dec 2015, net profit grew by 31.1 per cent y- o- y to RM74.26 million versus RM56.64 million recorded in FY14.

Nonetheles­s, FY15 revenue dipped slightly by 1.3 per cent y- o- y to RM381.20 million from RM386.12 million in FY14.
