Career talk on STEM at Kuching civic centre

KUCHING: A career talk on opportunit­ies offered in the science, technology and innovation fields, that is taking place today is expected to draw an overwhelmi­ng response from school students.

The talk to be conducted by the Technology Park Malaysia Corporatio­n Sdn Bhd ( TPM) will be held at the Kuching civic centre main hall from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in conjunctio­n with the ‘Creativity and Science4U 2016’ carnival hosted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation ( Mosti).

TPM senior executive (corporate communicat­ion) Intan Suraini Rosdi said the career talk, themed ‘A Career in Science and Technology’ will be presented by TPM’s corporate communicat­ion and stakeholde­r management senior manager Aniz Adura Abdul Majid.

“We hope more students are coming to the talk. We want to highlight skills in Science, Technology, Engineerin­g and Mathematic­s ( STEM) in line with the need of our country in these careers,” she said. She was met at the TPM exhibition booth at the carnival yesterday.

STEM offers tremendous opportunit­ies with a bright future for those wishing to pursue their careers in the related fields.

Intan said they were also displaying face cut- out stands for pictures, puzzles related to Science, technology and innovation careers, brain teasers and other activities aimed at creating and enhancing interest among Sarawakian­s on the subjects of Science and technology at the carnival.

The public especially children and students are encouraged to visit the carnival to broaden their knowledge on STEM.
